Who we are
Jodi Omear is a strategic communications and planning expert with over 20 years of experience leading high-impact initiatives in government, nonprofit, and private sectors. Her expertise spans strategic planning, brand development, change management, crisis communications, digital engagement, and media relations. She has advised executive leaders, governors, members of Congress, and Fortune 500 companies, and has successfully managed partnerships with national media and public figures.
Jodi is an adjunct professor at George Mason University, where she teaches The Community, Marketing, and Public Relations, drawing on her extensive experience in strategic communications and public affairs.
Jodi previously served as Vice President of Communications at RAINN, where she led strategic communications and advocacy efforts for clients including Uber, TripAdvisor, McDonald’s, Massage Envy, and the U.S. Department of Defense. She previously served as Chief Communications Strategist at the National Governors Association, overseeing communications initiatives across key policy areas including economic development, education, health, and homeland security.
Jodi began her career on Capitol Hill and later served as Press Secretary and Spokeswoman for West Virginia Governor Bob Wise. She holds two master’s degrees from The George Washington University in Organizational Leadership & Learning and Political Management, along with a bachelor’s degree in English and Journalism from West Liberty University. She also holds an Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) and is a president of the Board of Directors of Triage Cancer.
Margaret Chapman is a strategic advisor with more than 20 years of experience helping organizations strengthen their finance, operations, fundraising, and overall programmatic strategy. She has worked across sectors and scales—from national political campaigns and major institutions like The Pew Charitable Trusts and The George Washington University Cancer Institute to small nonprofits and early-stage start-ups—guiding each toward sustainable growth by building on their unique strengths.
Margaret is an instructor at George Mason University where she teaches Social Entrepreneurship, drawing on her experience in guiding a variety of startups and nonprofits in their social impact journey.
Margaret began her finance career as Compliance Coordinator and later Director of Operations for the West Virginia Democratic Executive Committee, where she oversaw funding and compliance for the 2004 presidential election cycle in the state. She went on to serve as Vice President at Political CFOs and has held leadership roles with organizations focused on health, housing, and the arts. She is the former Board President of Street Sense Media, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit addressing homelessness, and previously served as treasurer for the Board of Directors for Triage Cancer. She also served as Managing Director of the Unfunded List, supporting philanthropy education and nonprofit development.
Margaret holds degrees in International Affairs and Economics from Marshall University, and master’s degrees in Business Administration and History & European/Eurasian Studies from The George Washington University. A passionate supporter of the arts, she has also contributed her time and expertise to numerous DC-area theaters, including St Mark’s Players and The Little Theatre of Alexandria.
